Terms & Conditions
Welcome! We're excited to help you take the next step in your TEFL journey. These Terms and Conditions explain the details of how our TEFL courses and practicum programs work. Please take a moment to read them carefully before signing up.

1. Who We Are
We resell accredited TEFL courses provided by The TEFL Institute. By purchasing a TEFL Institute course from us, you acknowledge that course content, structure, and certification are delivered by The TEFL Institute and not developed in-house. All practicum courses—free and paid—are provided and administered by The Brook Hill Alliance, Inc. through our Brook Hill Training Institute. By purchasing from us, you agree to the policies outlined below, and to The TEFL Institute’s terms and conditions, which can be found here.
2. Course Access and Validity
-
Access to your course is granted upon delivery of login credentials from The TEFL Institute. Course logins are typically issued within 1–3 business days of purchase.
-
Course access is valid for 6 months from the activation date.
3. Teaching Practicum Courses
We offer separate practicum courses to help you gain hands-on teaching experience. These are operated solely by The Brook Hill Training Institute, a division of The Brook Hill Alliance, and are not affiliated with The TEFL Institute platform.
Practicum Types:

-
Free 15-Hour Practicum (Optional):
A complimentary 15-hour practicum is available to customers who purchase a TEFL Institute course through our website. In most cases, this option must be selected at checkout to be included. However, we may offer the practicum post-purchase as part of a promotion, invitation, or manual enrollment at our discretion.
This practicum is not automatically included and must be accepted or activated by the participant before scheduling begins. Availability remains subject to capacity, instructor scheduling, and minimum enrollment.
We recommend that participants begin the 15-hour practicum after completing their TEFL course, so they are prepared to apply what they’ve learned. This ensures a more effective and rewarding teaching experience. It is your responsibility to request scheduling after completion of your TEFL course. To request scheduling, please contact: Traininginstitute@tbha.co.

-
Paid Practicum Options (Open to All):
Our paid practicum programs are open to anyone seeking practical teaching experience, regardless of whether you purchase a TEFL course from us. These options include extended hours, personalized feedback, and additional instructional support.
4. Practicum Requirements and Expectations:
By enrolling in a practicum course (free or paid), you agree to the following terms:
-
Scheduling Availability: Practicum sessions are only offered Monday through Friday, between 10:00 AM and 2:30 PM (U.S. Eastern Time). Participants must be available for at least two (2) hours per week during that window.
-
Agreed Schedule is Final: Once a teaching schedule is agreed upon, it cannot be changed without advance notice and approval. Frequent cancellations or no-shows may result in removal from the practicum. In order to complete the practicum requirements, any missed practicum sessions — regardless of reason — must be rescheduled and completed:
-
Within our standard scheduling hours: Monday to Friday, between 10:00am and 2:30pm (U.S. Eastern Time), and
-
Within the original practicum time window (i.e. your 10-hour practicum period), unless an extension is granted at our discretion.
Extensions may be granted on a case-by-case basis if reasonable and subject to instructor availability, but are not guaranteed. We do not offer evening or weekend sessions. Participants are expected to commit to the agreed schedule and make every effort to attend sessions consistently.
-
Delivery Format: All practica are conducted live online. Participants must have reliable internet access, a quiet and professional environment, and the ability to teach using video conferencing tools (such as Zoom or similar platforms).
-
Internet & Equipment: In order to participate, you must have:
-
Reliable, high-speed internet access, with a minimum of 4 Mbps download and upload internet speed. (If unsure, click here to test internet speed. This link directs to M-Lab third party speed test.)
-
A computer with Intel i5 processor or equivalent and 4GB computer RAM
-
A working webcam (HDD preferred)
-
Microphone and speaker (noise cancelling headphones preferred)
-
A quiet space suitable for teaching
You are responsible for ensuring your device is compatible. We are not liable for outages, incompatibility, or failures on these platforms. We will support you in troubleshooting, but cannot guarantee resolution of platform issues. If we determine that your setup prevents effective participation, we may delay or cancel your practicum.
-
English Proficiency: All practicum participants must have an English proficiency level of C1 or higher (Advanced) on the CEFR scale. If no formal test scores are submitted, your proficiency will be assessed informally through your communication and submitted materials. We reserve the right to cancel or postpone your practicum if your English level is determined to be below this standard, as it may impact your ability to teach effectively.
-
EFL student learners participating in practicum sessions are enrolled as part of a broader program and are encouraged to attend every class. You are expected to conduct each scheduled practicum session as planned, regardless of how many students attend. Brook Hill makes reasonable efforts to fill classes, but does not guarantee student attendance and is not responsible for rescheduling sessions due to student no-shows. If students do not show up or leave early, the session may still count toward practicum completion, provided that you were present, prepared to teach, and fulfilled all other teaching duties. Brook Hill staff will determine whether the session counts toward required practicum hours. Practicum participants are not permitted to cancel or skip sessions due to low, or no, student attendance unless instructed by Brook Hill.
